ITV will feature coverage of the BBL Championship match between the Newcastle Eagles and the Brighton Bears through in a 150-minute programme that will also feature pre-match interviews and behind-the-scenes news.
Former Chicago Bulls' player Rodman signed on with the Brighton Bears after his appearance in the 'Celebrity Big Brother' house. The game will be Rodman's second outing for the team. In his first he scored four points.
ITV Local, which is currently being trialled by ITV Meridian, is available worldwide to anyone with a broadband connection. It carries news and features about the South and South-East of England, but this will be the first time that the service has offered live streaming of an event.
The pay-per-view event, which will cost fans £7.50 to watch, could be the first of many, according to Lindsay Charlton, managing director of ITV Meridian.
"If this trial is successful then we intend to offer other pay-per-view events as a broadband service for viewers of ITV Local, which is an important new addition to ITV's family of channels."
Nick Nurse, head coach of the Genesis Brighton Bears, added: "This is a fantastic opportunity for Bears fans all over the world to see them live. Dennis Rodman is great entertainment and is truly an NBA Legend."
