RKCR/Y&R scoops Clio TV gold for Virgin Atlantic

LONDON - Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R was the only UK-based agency to win gold in the TV/Cinema/Digital and Technique category at the Clio awards last night, for its "love at first flight" spot for Virgin Atlantic.

The ad was one of 15 campaigns that were deemed worthy of gold status at the ceremony, with other winning spots including Wieden & Kennedy Amsterdam's "library' ad for Coca-Cola, and TBWA\Chiat\Day's "piñata" spot for Skittles.

Crispin Porter & Bogusky was honoured as agency of the year, while BBDO picked up the network of the year award.

The production company of the year gong went to MJZ in Los Angeles and London, and Volkswagen was named as best advertiser.

Barry Manilow also received a special award on the night, for his work on advertising jingles for brands including Stridex and Band-Aid.
