Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R has developed the campaign for COI Communications using the strapline: "No logo no good."
It aims to remind potential shoppers to look out for the Energy Efficiency Recommended logo, which appears on a range of energy efficient products such as lighting products and white goods.
Three executions have been created featuring a wasteful refrigerator, a bedside lamp and a washing machine that get caught stealing money.
Launching on 4 November, the posters will run outside major retail outlets including Argos, Dixons and Currys. The outdoor campaign is also being supported by four radio executions.
"The issue of energy efficiency is all too easy for consumers to ignore. The idea of homes behaving badly aims to make a lasting impression with a previously apathetic audience," Tony Harris, the managing partner at RKCR/ Y&R, said.
The work was art directed by Andy Clough and written by Richard McGrann.
Photography is by Nick Meek through Siobhan Squire, with typography by Lee Aldridge.
Media planning is by Mediaedge:cia, with poster buying through Portland and COI Communications.
