RKCR/Y&R flame passes to James Murphy as Rainey and Kelly bow out

Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R has promoted its managing director James Murphy to the role of chief executive.

The announcement, which follows last week's news that two of the agency's co-founders, Jim Kelly and MT Rainey, will leave next spring, will also see the last remaining founding partner and executive creative director, Mark Roalfe, take on the role of chairman. In a joint statement, Rainey, Kelly and William Eccleshare, the chairman and chief executive of Y&R EMEA, said: "Mark will be the guardian of the agency's cultural values.

James is a long-serving member of the agency's leadership team and, in addition to having built close relationships with key client partners, he has a proven track record on the agency's most creative accounts and its biggest pitches."
