Swing, which launches on 5 May, will give readers promotional offers at American Golf's outlets.
The approach mirrors that of River's market-leading health and nutrition title Healthy, which is sold only in Holland & Barrett stores.
Swing will offer instructional tips, equipment reviews, star profiles and details of the best courses and holiday destinations and claims to be humourous and opinionated.
Martin Vousden, former editor of Today's Golfer and launch editor of Golf Buyer, has been named as editor.
River developed the title closely with Andrew McDonald, American Golf's business development director.
Ed Axon, deputy managing director of River Publishing, said: "It became clear we could put together a magazine unlike any others currently out there, and offer golfers what they really want.
"We also realised that we could deliver it exclusively through American Golf stores, thus cutting through the clutter and wastage of the UK newsstand."
