Haymarket Exhibitions' Autosport International closed at Birmingham's NEC on Sunday (17 January) achieving a 10% increase on trade gate figures and a 7% rise in consumer figures.
Meanwhile, organiser of the London Art Fair, Upper Street Events, recorded a 7% growth in visitor numbers from its show at the Business Design Centre in Islington, which also closed on Sunday.
"The last quarter of 2009 things started to turn a corner," says Haymarket Exhibitions managing director Gavin Brown. "We feel very optimistic about the year ahead. We're already talking to major sponsors and manufactures that weren't able to take part in the show this year about Autosport International 2011."
Haymarket is planning two new launches this year - an interactive dance show at the NEC in December, and Sknitch; a sewing, knitting, needlework and stitching zone at Clothes Show Live.
