Rightmove embarks on £125k campaign

Property portal Rightmove is to launch a £125,000 marketing campaign to raise awareness of its online services among estate agents and consumers.

The two-stage campaign aims to support the 3,400 member estate agent branches that advertise their property listings on Rightmove.co.uk.

A key element of the first distribution will be three A4-sized posters and an information sheet. Creative will feature ex-England footballer Ian Wright, star of the site's £1 million TV advertising campaign, which ran in January (Revolution, December 5, p6).

The information sheet will provide graphs and information on key statistics such as the number of consumers who can access the internet from home, how many will use online property search services in the next 12 months and the increase in property web site use.

"The material helps to tie in the agents to wider campaigns that we are doing and I designed to boost traffic to our web site and highlight the services we offer, said Suzanne Deakins, senior marketing executive at Rightmove.

Rightmove will also provide market share information to help compare its performance with internet rivals assertahome.com, propertyfinder.co.uk and Fish4homes.

The second wave in July will include door-drop leaflets, followed by a radio advertising campaign to boost Rightmove's profile in the consumer market.
