Richard Morris to leave DDB Europe

Richard Morris, the regional director for DDB Europe, has been made redundant after a restructure of his department.

Morris, who has worked for DDB for more than 20 years, was informed of the decision last week.

Although Morris is not on any consultation period, he is understood to be in discussion with Michael Bray, the president of DDB Europe, regarding the timing of his departure.

Morris was the only DDB Europe employee to be made redundant. DDB London axed 16 of its staff last week, as part of a cost-cutting drive.

Bray said: "The department has been restructured, which has resulted in Richard leaving the company. It's sad, but the economic situation has put pressure on overheads."

Morris' responsibilities will now be split among other new-business personnel in the DDB corporate group.

He joined DDB 21 years ago as a graduate trainee and took on the position of business development director for DDB London in 2004 before being promoted to his current role in January 2007.
