The Revolution Awards 2004: Agency of the year - i-level

2003 has been i-level's best year yet. It won the biggest-ever online media pitch for the COI, gained 10 other new clients, and increased business from existing clients by 25 per cent. The online planning and buying specialist also gained £10m in new business and saw its income increase by 58 per cent in the year ending March 2003. On top of that, i-level also created two new divisions - i-level Generator and i-level Partnerships - which became profitable in their first year of operation.

Its various campaigns using email, viral, SMS, search, ads and banners have won awards and plaudits right across the industry. The Financial Times, for example, listed i-level as the only digital agency in its Creative Business Top 50. Marketing magazine also placed it as the biggest online agency in the UK.

I-level has led wider industry initiatives as well, becoming the Incorporated Society of British Advertisers' (ISBA) exclusive partner for online-media training and also forming relationships with disability organisations to improve accessibility. It was the first agency to join ABCe and has funded research into digital's place in consumers' lives.

Back in 1999, the agency had a vision of establishing an independent digital-media agency that specialised in digital media and only digital media. Today, it employs more than 50 staff and is growing rapidly.

Its services include: planning and buying digital advertising; distributing client services and content on key web sites; research, benchmarking and analysis; web site efficiency; mobile marketing consultancy, and search-marketing services.

This award recognises the internet agency, marketing agency, consultancy or other e-service supplier which, in the judges' opinion, delivers the most effective business and marketing work across its client roster.
