Retail news: Asda to extend Great Stuff line

Asda is extending its Great Stuff children's healthy eating range into non-food.

The first such products will be a suncare line, which goes on sale this month.

The retailer also plans to introduce a range of toiletries under the sub-brand's banner.

Asda launched Great Stuff, which comprises about 70 products including healthy meals, yoghurts and lunch-box snack packs, last summer (Marketing, 10 August 2005).

The sub-brand has since become sufficiently popular for Asda to extend the number of products and feature the illustrated characters from Great Stuff's packaging, Hop and Skip, in a TV campaign. The ads featured the tagline 'The healthier stuff that kids love,' and targeted children aged between two and nine.

The packaging for Great Stuff products was created by design agency flb.
