Restructure: Catalyst rejigs as Cochran exits

Catalyst Marketing managing director Jeremy Cochran has left the agency after three years, prompting a restructure of the business.

Cochran was bound under an agreement with Catalyst not to disclose where he is going or when he is leaving as P&I went to press. He will not be replaced and his departure has led to the creation of a management board headed by Rob Morrice, group chief executive of Catalyst owner Citigate Smarts.

Elsewhere, business director Sam Jordan joins the board and will take on some of Cochran's managerial responsibilities. Creative director Michael Quinn and group account directors Craig Buchanan-Smith and Austen Donnellan complete the board.

The reshuffle has also seen Buchanan-Smith and Donnellan promoted to planning director and client services director respectively.

"The creation of the board formalises a situation that has been operating for some time now and which has delivered growth for the agency," said Morrice.

Catalyst is recruiting for a financial controller and has taken on three recruits at junior level to support the restructure and a planned expansion into digital marketing.
