Redwood loses Harvey Nichols

Customer publisher Redwood has lost the contract to publish Harvey Nichols magazine, with the fashion store undecided whether to continue with a publication.

Redwood has been producing the customer title for Harvey Nichols for 10 years, but the winter edition of the quarterly title is set to be the last of the contract.

The magazine has been distributed with the Evening Standard's ES magazine for the past year and prior to that was sent out to store account holders.

The fashion store is now considering whether to continue publishing a magazine or channel resources into other marketing opportunities instead.

Harvey Nichols publishing manager Neil Holbrook said the store was planning to change its marketing strategy.

"We are looking at all vehicles, the growth area is online," he said.

But Holbrook added that the contract ending had attracted attention from other contract publishers.

"We've had a lot of interest from other publishers and we are taking some pitches for it," he said.
