Record numbers attend Bristol Harbour Festival

A record-breaking 250,000 visitors flocked to the annual Bristol Harbour Festival last weekend (31 July to 2 Aug) for three days of dance and music.

The annual music and arts festival, organised by Bristol City Council, is one of the largest free events in the UK and showcased a range of music and arts talent from around the world.

Spread across seven stages, the event showcased artistes including Candi Staton and VV Brown.

Bristol City Council head of arts and culture Phillipa Hayes said: "The festival was a fantastic success; we knew on Sunday morning that we were heading for record figures and that is what we achieved."
