Thomas, formerly the marketing director for Reckitt Benckiser's household, personal care and healthcare business, will now move out of the UK business and into a global role. Thomas will have responsibility for brands including Cillit Bang at a global level.
The UK's 70-strong marketing department will now be headed up by Stefan Gaa, who previously headed up RB's 25-strong Hull-based health marketing unit.
Gaa will preside over the merged division in Slough, where the household, personal care and healthcare business is based.
The merging of the marketing units brings Reckitt Benckiser’s UK business in line with the business globally.
Gaa in his new role will report to UK general manager Camillo Pane. The changes take effect from July 19.
Gaa's previous roles include marketing director India and global marketing manager for Finish, one of its 17 global powerbrands.
Reckitt Benckiser ranks as the UK’s eight biggest advertisers and the third largest TV advertiser.
Its brands include Finish, Dettol, Vanish, Airwick, Veet, Nurofen and Strepsils.
