RealNetworks teams up with Nokia to relive summer music online

LONDON - RealNetworks and Nokia have created five online radio stations for music fans to relive the summer's Nokia Raw events.

The stations will broadcast music from bands that played at festivals and gigs around the UK in 2005.

Stations featured include: Nokia Urban Music Festival; Nokia Isle of Wight Festival; Nokia Unleashed Music Festival at the Rip Curl Boardmasters Surf event; Nokia Raw Tour; and The Carling Weekend Reading and Leeds festivals.

The Nokia Raw Tour will feature the best breakthrough acts of this year such as Brendan Benson, El Presidente, Cut Copy, The Needs, Queen Adreena and JJ72.

Real's music editors will customise the websites to reflect the line-up of each event with tracks from artists such as Razorlight and Pixies to The Magic Numbers and De La Soul.

Alex MacNamara, advertising sales manager at RealNetworks, said: "Partnering with Real to create bespoke radio stations is a perfect fit and a natural extension of Nokia's offline activities. We are very excited to be unveiling a European first with the RAW branded stations."

In addition to the radio stations, interactive broadcast banners and media playing units will run on the RealGuide, RealNetworks' entertainment portal, to drive visitors to the Nokia Raw website.
