Real Media has walked off with the advertising sales contract for
Delia Smith's website - Deliaonline.com.
The sales house is offering a range of advertising opportunities,
including banners, buttons, sponsorships, research, microsites,
rich-media and e-mail marketing on the site, which claims to have a
large proportion of ABC1 users.
The outfit will also use its ad-serving technology Open Adstream to
deliver and track advertising on the site.
Deliaonline was launched in March this year by new-media publisher New
Crane Internet, whose parent company New Crane Publishing produces
Sainsbury's Magazine.
The site houses more than 700 of Delia Smith's recipes, including many
not already published in her cookbooks, as well as cookery advice, and
"some of the best food writing on the web".
The celebrity cook joins visitors to her site for regular online chats
and writes a weekly diary. Katherine Bell oversees the site as
Deliaonline's director.
Brian White, Real Media head of product development, said: "By
delivering beyond-the-banner solutions such as e-mail, rich-media and
research, this site will have a strong appeal to a wide range of
advertisers looking to tap into this unique audience."
