RDF takes Peep Show to US audience

LONDON - RDF has produced a pilot US version of its hit Channel 4 comedy 'Peep Show' for Viacom-owned men's cable channel Spike TV.

The pilot has been written by Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong, the same team behind the five UK series of the cult comedy about odd couple flatmates, uptight Mark and slacker Jeremy.

Actors Brad Morris and Rob Chester Smith take the respective roles in the pilot.

It appears from RDF USA's release the pilot retains the idiosyncratic point-of-view camerawork and inner monologues of the UK version.

Previous transatlantic adaptations of British sitcoms have had a mixed record in the US. A remake of BBC Two's 'Coupling' flopped while NBC'S US remake of 'The Office' is among the best received.

Channel 4 will be showing a sixth series of 'Peep Show' in the near future.
