The ads, for RBS' corporate banking division, will feature case studies of businesses which have secured financing from the state-owned bank, according to reports.

RBS chief executive Stephen Hester has sent a letter to the bank's business customers, claiming that it is accepting up to 85% of credit applications and insisting RBS is ‘open for business'.

Last week, RBS appointed Publicis to its £5m recruitment advertising account, following a pitch against recruitment specialist TMP, Tequila and JWT's recruitment arm.
