Razvi switches from CNN to Viacom Brand Solutions

LONDON - MTV Networks International has appointed CNN International's Kevin Razvi as executive vice-president and managing director at the broadcaster's sales arm Viacom Brand Solutions.

The former CNN executive vice-president will join the broadcaster on January 1 2007 to take up the newly created position.

Prior to CNN, Razvi was deputy managing director of MindShare's UK operations. He is being replaced at CNN by Jonathan Davies, senior vice-president of CNN International ad sales, who is also a former MindShare director.

Razvi will be tasked with constructing a global sales strategy across the group's TV, internet and mobile services.

Razvi will report to Alex Ferrari, chief operating officer at MTV Networks International, who said: "With Kevin's appointment, we've connected all of our VBS teams around the world so we can better leverage our brand assets for international clients on local, regional and global levels.

"Kevin's extensive experience in complex international markets will add value to our sales strategies and client relationships in local markets and across territories."

Razvi will also oversee MTV Networks International's research and planning group, identifying trends and attitudes of audiences.

The group MTV currently runs 106 television channels internationally, 94 websites, 20 broadband services and 26 mobile television channels globally, including the Nickelodeon, VH1 and TMF channels.
