Russel Oakley, brand engagement director at the agency, told Event that the move was in direct response to the increased value organisations are putting on having engaged and empowered employees and that it would use whatever medium is best suited, including events, film or VR.
He said: "Whether the challenge is to increase employee advocacy, loyalty, motivation, happiness, trust or any other intrinsic human reaction, the key is to clearly communicate with people in a way that inspires them and People Activation is exactly that."
The Manchester-based agency, whose clients include Talk Talk, Müller, Purina and Astellas Pharma has also unveiled a new website, peopleactivation.com and two new launch films to coincide with the rebrand.
Co-founder Chris Teague said: "People Activation was originally coined when we saw the amazing reactions of our clients' employees who were attending the events we were producing. As we have grown as an agency, People Activation has evolved from a simple expression to become a tangible and measurable change in people and their organisations."
Rapport has grown significantly over the past 12 months which has led to the agency moving to a new office based in The Hive building in Manchester's northern quarter.
Oakley, who joined Rapport from The Moment Content Company in August, added: "People Activation is all about inspiring positive change in people and the organisations they work for, whatever the platform. The growing value organisations are rightly putting against employee engagement, welfare and company culture has created a gap in the market for an agency that can offer a complete solution to these ever more common challenges."
