Rapp scoops Marketing's 'direct agency of the year' accolade

LONDON - Rapp has won the title of Marketing magazine's Direct Agency of the Year for defying the downturn with new business wins and for its evolution into a provider of digital direct marketing.

Winning the Skype global account was a high point for Rapp's year, as were wins of Barclaycard, DSG International, Direct Holidays and Unicef business.

The award comes 14 months after Rapp rebranded, ditching ‘WWAV' and ‘Collins' from its name in October 2008.

The past year for Rapp "has been the culmination of a determined multi-year effort to re-orient the business toward the future," Marketing's ‘Agency of the Year' judging panel concluded.

In the runner-up category, direct agencies Elvis, Kitcatt Nohr Alexander Shaw, Lida and SFW were judged to be ‘best of the rest'.

VCCP, the shop that propelled Comparethemarket.com from obscurity into a household name with its ‘Meerkat' campaign, was named as Marketing's Creative Agency of the Year.
