Ramsay serves up a primetime treat for Channel 4

LONDON - The latest instalment of Channel 4's fourth series of 'Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares' pulled in an impressive 4.2m viewers last night, according to unofficial overnight figures.

Last night's episode, in which Gordon Ramsay headed to Wales to see if he could turn round ex-boxer Mike Ciminera's restaurant The Fish & Anchor, took a 16.7% average share of the audience in the 9pm ratings battle ground.

ITV1 aired a one-off special of 'I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!' entitled 'Coming Out', which took a look at what the celebrities did after they left the jungle.

The 90-minute special drew 5.2m viewers and a 22% share, which was enough to win the slot despite competition from BBC One's popular spy drama 'Spooks'.

'Spooks', which showed the MI5 agents Adam and Harry attempting to avert a war with Iran in a story of bluff and double bluff, attracted 4.8m viewers and a 19.4% share. The show featured the character Roz, played by Hermione Norris, exiting the show.

Earlier in the evening, Channel 4 pitted property show presenter Sarah Beeney against ITV1's fashion experts Trinny and Susannah in the 8pm slot.

Channel 4's 'Property Ladder' was watched by 3.1m viewers and gained a 13.2% share, while 'Trinny and Susannah Undress the Nation' drew 3.6m and 15.4%.
