
Hill will be charged with managing and leading Rajar, which conducts and publishes the research used by commercial radio groups and agencies when trading radio airtime, and pushing forward the move to digital radio diaries.
Hill worked at Interpublic agency Initiative for eight years from 2001 in a number of senior positions including chief executive of UK and Ireland, joint chief executive of EMEA and worldwide strategic development director.
David Mansfield, chairman of Rajar, said: "Jerry Hill is a highly rated individual with a very impressive track record in media spanning over 20 years.
"It is very important for the radio industry that the day-to-day running of Rajar is in professional and capable hands and we feel confident that Jerry is this person."
Hill was chief executive of the ITV sales house TSMS between 1997 and 2001 and is a former sales and marketing director at Anglia TV.
