RADIOWATCH: TalkSPORT to link with top British motor show at NEC

TalkSPORT is to strike a deal to be the official radio station of this year's British International Motor Show, which will see it broadcast live from the NEC during the event.

The station will be seeking an advertiser to sponsor its coverage of the show, which runs from October 23 to November 2.

The Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders (SMMT), which runs the show and represents all the major car companies, is also negotiating with Birmingham station Heart 100.7 FM. However, spokesman Nigel Wonnacott said that nothing had yet been finalised.

The deal with talkSPORT was brokered by markettiers4dc at no cost to SMMT, which has also appointed markettiers4dc to create radio coverage for the show in the UK and abroad.

In order to achieve maximum coverage, markettiers4dc will build a radio studio in each of the main halls, plus several additional studios on manufacturers' individual stands.

The agency will work with manufacturers to facilitate promotional events such as live panel discussions, theme days and celebrity interviews.
