Radio Times issues eight covers to celebrate Live 8

LONDON - Radio Times will be published with eight different covers this week to mark the Live 8 concert on July 2, with Bob Geldof, Coldplay, U2 and Sir Paul McCartney as cover stars, along with exclusive interviews with some of the top bands playing.

The landmark issue has been developed with the support of Live 8 and event organisers, who gave the magazine access to people working behind the scenes as well as the talent on the stage.

The TV listings magazine decided it would be impossible to bring everyone together for a single cover, so instead decided to pull in a range of big names.

As well as Coldplay, U2, Geldof and McCartney, other cover stars being featured are Joss Stone, Sting, Annie Lennox and REM. The commemorative cover special is supported inside by a 10-page editorial special.

Gill Hudson, Radio Times' editor, said: "People expect Radio Times to come up with something special to commemorate really big events, and I was always confident we would pull this off.

"We knew it would be something of a logistical challenge, but we have an amazing editorial team that always manages to get the best interviews and pictures with the top stars."
