Quinoy named head of rebranded VBS Europe

MTV Networks has appointed Melisa Quinoy to run the newly-named Viacom Brand Solutions Europe operation, in a role which replaces that of former MTV Networks Europe advertising boss Dave Sibley.

The Viacom-owned entertainment company has ditched the previous name for its cross-brand European advertising operation, International Marketing Partnerships. Quinoy is charged with creating integrated deals across Europe for MTV and Nickelodeon, and the company's internet and mobile operations.

Quinoy, who will be based in London, has been made executive vice president of VBS Europe and will report to Simon Guild, chief executive of MTV Networks Europe. She was international sales chief for MTV networks Latin American.

Sibley, former head of advertising sales and marketing at MTV Networks, parted with the company in March after 10 years, but has returned as the new managing director of MTV Networks Australia.

Quinoy's role will include finding commercial opportunities around events such as the MTV Europe Music Awards, and flagship TV series such as Nickelodeon's SpongeBob Squarepants. Her role also encompasses 12 European mobile TV channels and the youth community websites, Neopets. Alex Ferrari, chief operating officer of MTV Networks International, said: "At MTVN Latin America, she was instrumental in growing our ad sales business. She consistently generated double-digit revenue growth and delivered maximum value for clients such as Coca-Cola, Motorola and Mattel."
