Quigo says that AdSonar will deliver more relevant ads to content through its automated semantic technology, combined with human set-up. For example, a web page featuring a travel article about Hawaii could offer advertising for hotels in Hawaii, airlines flying to Hawaii and local tourist attractions.
The company says that AdSonar's technology can also be set up quickly to support foreign languages, while other programmes can take several months.
Michael Yavonditte, CEO of Quigo, said that AdSonar combined the best of both worlds in its technology and human editing.
"AdSonar is an easy-to-implement solution for online publishers or adserving companies interested in delivering contextually targeted advertising," he said.
Paid-for searches are one of the fastest growing areas of revenue for internet companies, with industry estimates that contextual advertising could be worth $2bn (拢1.25bn) a year within the next five years.
