Quiet Storm creates chef for Schwartz

Quiet Storm has created a virtual chef to promote Schwartz's latest range of cooking sauces in a new TV commercial.

The quirky star is brought to life using the same technology used to create Gollum for the Lord of the Rings films.

The character appears in the nick of time to save a housewife who is attempting to prepare a meal using an ordinary jar of cooking sauce.

The scene freezes and the chef hands the woman a packet of Schwartz Real Paste to add to her cooking. "Your family will be so surprised," he says.

The voiceover says: "Schwartz, real taste, real flavour in a paste."

The writer was Becky Clarke. The art director and director was Trevor Robinson through Quiet Storm Films.

It is the second campaign the agency has developed for Schwartz since being appointed to the £5 million account in 2002 after a four-way pitch.

Benoit Lalande, the man-ager of consumer products marketing for Schwartz, said: "Quiet Storm has created a campaign that resonates with our key consumers in an appealing and informative way."

The ad, which will run on terrestrial and satellite channels across the UK and Ireland, targets people who enjoy cooking but have little time and are looking for quick fixes.

The ad breaks on Monday night during ITV's I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.
