Caterer Blue Strawberry was brought in to prepare afternoon tea for 650 guests at the dockside in Southampton, from where the ship was launched.
The menu featured treats displayed on three-tiered cake stands sat on glass poseur tables. Champagne and an assortment of teas flowed as guests looked on through a viewing gallery at the new liner.
Sister company Table Talk catered the official unveiling of a specially commissioned portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth, which is also pictured in the gallery. .
The 300m-long Queen Elizabeth liner stands taller than Nelson’s column.
