Punch Taverns director Jonathan Paveley departs

LONDON - Jonathan Paveley, commercial director of the UK's biggest pub chain Punch Taverns, is leaving the business after five years at the company.

He leaves in April and will step down from the board with immediate effect.

A spokesman said the decision was ‘by mutual consent' and that his role would not be replaced.

Giles Thorley, chief executive of Punch Taverns, said the chain of more than 8,400 leased, tenanted and managed pubs across the UK had ‘excellent commercial contracts in place with a strong sales and marketing ethos and with an exceptionally strong team''.

The business said it was facing a ‘very challenging trading environment' and would take steps to reduce its debts.
