Publicis wins Vichy skincare account

Vichy, the cosmetics brand, has handed Publicis its UK advertising account after a pitch against McCann Erickson and Euro RSCG.

Vichy is currently sold exclusively through specialist pharmacies, including those in Harrods and Selfridges, but it will be extending its range into Boots the Chemist.

Publicis will be briefed to create a through-the-line campaign, which is designed to launch the brand to a wider audience in the UK market.

Cass Coulston, the deputy general manager of Vichy, said: "Our plan is to successfully relaunch the brand and gain more proximity to consumers through distribution."

Vichy will introduce a skin health consultation service in-store, called Dermo-Analyser, which has been developed to take an accurate reading of the needs of a person's skin. Publicis will promote the service to the general public.

The brand is also planning to run a National Skin Health Month in March, including a roadshow, which will visit ten major shopping centres around the UK, offering consumers a free consultation with a dermatological nurse.
