Publicis regroups in Paris

Publicis Groupe has established Paris as its sole headquarters following the appointment of former Financial Times chief executive officer Olivier Fleurot as executive chairman and Richard Pinder as chief operating officer.

Pinder takes over from Rick Bendel, who recently left the group after 20 years to become group marketing director of Wal-Mart-owned supermarket chain Asda.
In a move described by Publicis chairman and chief executive officer Maurice Lévy as a way to reinforce the unity of the network, the new management team will have full responsibility worldwide.
Lévy added: "The heart of Publicis is located in Paris. While we have to recognize and develop our global position, our roots remain an essential element of our culture and of our own future.
Olivier will set the main strategic lines of the Publicis network and contribute to developing important global clients.
Pinder, who will report to Fleurot, has been with Publicis for six years, most recently as president of Leo Burnett EMEA.
