Boyd is currently the group head of strategy at Adam & Eve/DDB and is also chair of the Account Planning Group, a position he has held since January 2016.

Publicis London has been without a chief strategy officer since Dylan Williams, who held both the global CSO and UK role, vacated the position in February last year to join Droga 5. Former Leo Burnett staffer and US based Mick McCabe took up the global role to replace Williams.

The department has been run by joint heads of strategy Kari Freeburn and Darren Savage, another former Adam & Eve/DDB staffer who joined Publicis in 2015.

Boyd has just resigned from his role at Adam & Eve/DDB and is currently negotiating his start date at Publicis.

He was promoted to his current role in November 2015, working across Adam &Eve/DDB, Cain & Abel and DDB Matrix, and reports to chief strategy officer and agency co-founder David Golding.

He will be responsible for the overall strategic leadership of the agency, key clients of which include Morrisons, Procter & Gamble, Heineken, UBS, Nestlé, Renault, SCA and Tourism Ireland.

Boyd will report to new Publicis London chief executive Nick Farnhill, working alongside executive creative director Dave Monk and chairman Karen Buchanan.

Farnhill said: "Dom is widely known as one of the best planners in the industry, he signals a very clear intent at Publicis London. We’re really excited about him joining at this time in our evolution as an agency, and look forward to him working with the team in driving the agency’s shared agenda in developing bold and innovative creative ideas to help drive business transformation for all our clients."

During his career, Boyd has won five IPA Effectiveness Awards (one gold, two silver and two special awards), and has led strategy on award-winning work including Waitrose "Spring" and Mulberry "#WinChristmas".

Boyd said: "While Adam & Eve/DDB is a tough place to leave and I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved, Publicis’ digital leadership, entrepreneurial DNA and scale of ambition make it a very rare beast – an agency genuinely committed to transformational thinking. Nick, Dave and Karen and Guy are a class team that live and breathe digital, so I’m massively excited about creating a future-facing agency together that produces amazing work."

Previous to Adam & Eve/DDB, Boyd was head of planning at Mortimer Whittaker O’Sullivan. He started his career at Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO.
