Publicis Groupe confirms talks with Aegis

LONDON - Publicis Groupe has confirmed speculation that it held talks with media holding company Aegis about a possible 拢1.56bn takeover, which pushed the UK firm's shares up by 20%.

In statement, Public, which is led by chief executive Maurice Levy, said: "Publicis Groupe confirms that very preliminary conversations have been held with Aegis Group in respect of a possible offer. At this stage, it is extremely premature to conclude that these conversations will lead to an offer for Aegis."
