The acquisitions are the latest in a string of purchases designed to help push the company into sectors such as PR, promotion and direct marketing. Earlier this year, it bought UK sales promotions agency Triangle Group and Paris-based design firm Carre Noir.
Maurice Levy, chairman and chief executive of Publicis, explained that the company needed to strengthen its position in the marketing services arena and said it was in negotiations to buy another PR firm and a direct marketing company. Its rivals, such as Omnicom, WPP and Interpublic, already own nine of the top 10 US PR firms.
Fabianne Gershon Associates and Hudson Stone Group will be integrated into Publicis Dialog, the group's New York-based direct marketing and interactive services unit.
