The Public Reacts: Have Maria Sharapova's sponsors treated her fairly?

Brands such as Nike, Porsche and Tag Heuer have been quick to distance themselves from tennis star Maria Sharapova, following the revelation that she failed a recent drugs test. We asked the public whether they think she has been treated unfairly by her sponsors.

Many sympathised with the athlete, saying that brands should go easy on her and give her a second chance.

One man said that regardless of gender, "if the media treats them badly, then the sponsors will treat them badly".
