
Porter and Hancock’s boat was joined by a World War Two Royal Navy motor gunboat and a Grace Spitfire ML 407 to complete the opening ceremony.
"Dawn and Nick, the World War Two boats and the Grace Spitfire have kicked off what promises to be a very special show. This year we have attracted more exhibitors than in 2009 and there are around 70 more boats on the marina," said National Boat Shows managing director Andrew Williams.
The PSP Southampton Boat Show takes place at Mayflower Park in a purpose-built marina for ten days until 19 September, featuring 530 exhibitors and more than 1,000 boats.
