In a letter sent to the campaign, which is managed by the Business Visits and Events Partnership (BVEP), Cameron said: "I am delighted again to congratulate Britain for Events for its admirable and tireless working in promoting the country and it’s many talents to the world." He added that he wished the campaign well for its 2013/14 period.

This is the second occasion which the Prime Minister has shown his support for the campaign. In his first letter, he said: "2012 was a wonderful year for Great Britain, memorably uniting the country with a passion and enthusiasm, and proudly showing the world exactly what Britain is, and how much we can offer. I am sure that in 2013 we will reap its many rewards, and I wish you all well."

Michael Hirst, campaign spokesperson and chair of the BVEP, said: "The Prime Minister’s support is a great endorsement of the industry, but on a more practical level it provides a strong digital to all areas of government and business that this is a significant campaign.

"Through the Ministerial Support initiative and the APPG Inquiry, the industry’s profile within UK government is growing, its now a matter of leveraging this support for the good of the industry."
