Pricerunner plans pre-Christmas blitz

Price comparison site Pricerunner.co.uk is preparing for a pre-Christmas marketing blitz after appointing a digital agency and becoming the preferred shopping partner for search engine Ask.com.

Pricerunner has hired Digitaltmw, the digital arm of integrated agency Tullo Marshall Warren, to increase its share of users in the increasingly competitive price comparison space. Digitaltmw has been hired for an initial six-month period to develop a branded campaign site, create and book online ads and create competitions and viral activity.

The agency's data division, Insighttmw, will work to gain and retain new users.

Additionally, search engine Ask.com has appointed Pricerunner to develop a branded shopping channel. The channel, which goes live early next month, will enable users to search for goods across 200 categories and millions of products.

The partnership will see a white-label version of Pricerunner go live before Christmas as it looks to carve out a big share of the price-comparison market during the run-up to Christmas.

Pricerunner is owned by online marketing firm ValueClick, which also counts ad network Vcmedia, affiliate marketing firm Commission Junction and technology arm Mediaplex as member companies.
