The major prize of Independent Publishing Company of the Year will see a battle between FMC, Grove House, Housebuilder Publications, Pocket Films, Think Publishing and Wanderlust for the coveted title.
Meanwhile, Crafts Beautiful, Dentistry, Fun to Learn Favourites, Mining Journal, A Place in the Sun and Wedding Ideas will fight it out in the Magazine of the Year category.
The event, which will be presented at a lunchtime ceremony on 3 May, is part of PPA’s commitment to recognising independent and smaller publishers’ entrepreneurial spirit and achievements.
Others in the shortlist announced today include:
Sarah Hawkin (Redan Company’s Fun to Learn Favourites), Will Hatchett (Environmental Health News by Chadwick House Publications), Simon Rogerson (Circle Publishing’s Dive magazine) and Dan Ross (Media 10’s Intersection) for the editor of the year category.
In the Best Launch or Relaunch category, Mining Journal (Mining Communications), Sparkle World (The Redan Company), Walk (Think Publishing) and Wedding Ideas (Giraffe Media) will lock horns for the award.
Shortlisted entries for the Most Innovative Route to Market are Full on! Magazine (Full on Publications) and Pocket Films Calendar (Pocket Films).

PPA unveils indie magazine shortlist
Almost 20 publishing houses have been short listed for the third annual PPA Independent Publisher Advisory Council awards to be held on 3 May.
