Macleod may have dropped off a few of his peers’ Christmas card lists after rolling out Mayor Sadiq Khan’s HFSS ad ban on the TfL network. But he has pledged that the move, aimed at tackling childhood obesity, will be applied fairly though the rules recently had to be revised. In another controversial initiative, he also helped launch the Ultra Low Emission Zone. A consummate industry panellist, Macleod has never been afraid to ruffle feathers. In March, he urged agencies to "get over the idea that they have the right to exist".
