It is thought BT invited Posterscope to bid for its business some time ago. The rest of the telecoms company's media business has been with Starcom since 2003.
In August last year, BT handed its 拢30m strategic planning brief to Starcom after client conflict between its previous agency, PHD, and directories rival Yell.
Starcom already handled all TV, press and radio buying for BT, while Zed Media was appointed in June 2005 on a 拢15m digital and online media buying brief.
BT underwent an internal restructure last year, as well as a review of its approach to media that involved an agency consolidation.
BT and Posterscope both declined to comment.
