Polydor in peak-time sponsorship of Trouble

LONDON - Record label Polydor, part of the giant Universal Music Group, is launching a peak broadcast sponsorship campaign on pay-TV channel Trouble to promote new band the Jonas Brothers.

Negotiated between MediaCom and IDS, the ad sales house for Trouble owner
Virgin Media TV, the deal will see the band become broadcast sponsor of the youth-oriented channel.

The Jonas Brothers campaign will run daily until 27 June on Trouble programming between 5.25pm to 11pm, including My Wife & Kids, Desmond's, All of Us and the Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

The band, launching self-titled album The Jonas Brothers, is made up of three brothers from New Jersey with pop music targeting 14 to 24-year-old females.

The deal follows last month's news that UKTV sealed its first ad-funded programming deal for Dave, the broadcaster's male-oriented channel.

Dave signed Red Bull to co-fund its first branded programming commission, Red Bull X-Fighters, a motocross event that takes place in Mexico, Brazil, the US, Germany and Spain in June and July.
