Poke named best interactive agency in Revolution survey

London-based digital hot-shop Poke has been named Best Interactive Agency in the UK in the first-ever Revolution Agency Survey, published this month.

Following an online survey of client readers of Revolution and sister title Marketing, Poke, whose clients include Christian Aid and BBC Worldwide, topped the chart of the top 20 agencies in the country.

Universal McCann Interactive, the online arm of the media buying giant, came second, behind Poke, which scored an average rating of 9.67 out of 10.

Sharing third place was Base 01 Interactive and Media.com, which just lost directors Nick Suckley and Pete Robins. Fifth place went to Profero, with dare, DC Interact, Precedent, OgilvyInteractive and Starcom Digital making up the rest of the top 10.

Poke's success continued in the tables for individual criteria as it topped the rankings for 'creativity' and its 'ability to work well with other agencies', scoring 10 out of 10 for each. It came no lower than sixth in any of our criteria rankings.

To compile these rankings, clients were asked to rate the digital agencies they have used in the past 12 months on 10 criteria. These included creativity, account management and use of technology. They also gave an overall score for each agency.

Ex-Deepend execs Tom Hostler, Peter Beech, Nick Farnhill and Simon Waterfall - along with Nik Roope and Iain Tait from now-defunct Oven Digital - founded Poke in December 2001. Its recent, winning work has included the 'From ABBA to Zappa' quiz game for The Observer Music Monthly and a personal finance health calculator for Yahoo! UK & Ireland.
