Plume Labs "pigeon air patrol" by DigitasLBi

A flock of pigeons wearing pollution-detecting sensors are circling the nation's capital as part of a marketing ploy from the tech company Plume Labs.

DigitasLBi was behind the stunt and worked with Twitter so that the data can be relayed via Tweets. There is also a microsite tracking the birds’ flight. The activity is designed to raise awareness for Plume’s air-quality-monitoring mobile app, and those involved are keen to stress that the pigeons will only wear the sensor-loaded vests (which are as light as a feather, apparently) for three days and will not be caused distress. It was created by Pierre Duquesnoy.
