Plum baby food brand enters chilled market

LONDON - Plum, the premium organic baby food company, is entering the chilled market with the launch of a fromage frais, made especially for babies. It represents the company's first move out of the ambient babyfood aisle.

The product, called the Ultimate Organic Baby Fromage Frais, has no added sugar and contains what Plum refers to as ‘baby botanicals'. It comes in three recipes Strawberry & chamomile, Peach & sweet fennel and Raspberry & rosehip.

Since its launch in 2006 Plum has achieved 5% market share of the wet baby food market and in September 2008 reported its highest ever sales figures. Susie Willis, founder of Plum, said she hoped to achieve similar results with the new fromage frais.

‘Herbal extracts have been known for centuries for their natural and powerful healing properties, and Plum's baby botanicals were each selected for their recognised benefits,' she added.
