The show, which launches on January 26, will be produced by Eddie Temple Morris, presenter of Xfm's 'The Remix' dance and rock music show.
It will air between midnight and 1am on Sundays, and contain no advertising nor sponsorship for PlayStation2. The only branding will be in the show's name, 'The Third Place', which is Sony's branding concept for the PS2 console.
Carl Christopher, sponsorship manager at PlayStation2, said: "Xfm is a natural partner for our vision of emotive and alternative radio. We intend to champion new ways of presentation and add a progressive radio experience."
The show will contain all the latest music to appeal to the post-clubbing late-night audience, as well as entertainment highlights from the previous week's show.
Andy Carr, Xfm sales manager, said: "PS2 and the overall concept of The Third Place as a parallel universe of entertainment and experience offered both a challenge, and ideal partner, in the production and delivery of a true multiplatform solution. The Third Place will exist on air, online and on page and take consumers far beyond the normal relationship between media channel and commercial partner."
