London - Pizza Express is launching what it claims is the first pre-paid card in the UK restaurant sector, next month.
The open value cards can be charged with between £5 and £500 and will be available from its the website from 1 November. Sainsbury’s and Woolworths will also sell the card from 5 and 15 November respectively.
Pizza Express currently has a paper voucher product that can be redeemed at its 300 UK restaurants.
Starbucks is the only other UK eatery to have a pre-paid giftcard currently. It launched the product in November 2006.
