Pitch Update

The pitch for the Croatia Tourist Board, which has asked agencies to present creative ideas ahead of formal meetings, has drawn the ire of the IPA.

Paul Bainsfair, the IPA director-general, said: "A client is very unlikely to get good work out of a process that asks agencies to solve a brand problem by e-mail, with no chance to discuss brief, strategy or creative."

In an experience familiar to customers hoping to post parcels overseas, DLKW Lowe, Engine and Ogilvy & Mather are queuing up to present their final pitches to the Post Office on 12 November. The incumbent, Dare, is not included as it is not on the Crown Commercial Service’s roster.

The Government is also inviting its roster agencies to pitch for a Public Health England umbrella campaign encouraging people to lead healthier lives. The brief may include the anti-smoking initiative Smokefree, which was also handled by Dare.
