What a mammoth event the pitch for Virgin Trains’ advertising, digital and CRM business is turning out to be. Ten agencies are said to be left in the running. They include the incumbent, Elvis, Crispin Porter & Bogusky, Krow, M&C Saatchi and Weapon7.
Meanwhile, the Government continues to keep adland gainfully employed, with two pitches having taken place this week. One was for the Department for Work & Pensions’ "I’m in" campaign for automatic pension enrolment, the other for a large-scale dementia initiative. This will be a high-profile effort backed by a budget of up to £8 million over two years. It will use ideas from different agencies, rather than appointing a single shop.
Shortlisted agencies are scrumming down for the RFU’s pitch to promote the 2015 Rugby World Cup. The contest is scheduled for next month.
Final pitches in the SSE CRM review take place next week. Happily for Partners Andrews Aldridge, one of the bidding agencies, its co-founder Phil Andrews has been drafted in as a consultant by the client.
